My goal for my students is to develop a deep and abiding sense of patriotism for Texas and the United States. I want them to accomplish this by gaining an understanding of how the country was founded and how the government was formed, a knowledge of their rights and how those rights came to be. I also want them to understand the many sacrifices that men and women have made in order for them to be able to enjoy the many blessings of living in a free and independent nation. And in the future, I expect my students to become productive citizens and contributing members of society.
